” I have spent my entire life trying to glue all my broken pieces back together again. My glue was love. I needed to be loved, to be wanted, to be accepted and to be cared for. I wanted to belong to someone.

I do not think I am that different than most in this regard. We all want to be loved and accepted for who and what we are. But when you are broken inside, no amount of glue will fix you and in my case, no relationship could ever fix me, heal me or make me feel whole. This, of course, did not stop me from diving in head-over-heels into relationships and always crashing head-on with the same disastrous results.

Spending years of my life chasing the idea of love, I became lost in a severe depression. As you will read the mitigating circumstances that surrounded my depression, I decided to overdose and end the aching pain of being unlovable. Fortunate for me, God had a plot twist in mind and though I had literally died in my hotel room, I was miraculously spared ending up in a coma for a week.

The first day of my coma my husband filed for divorce. Then, employees at my public relations agency stole my clients and started their own marketing firm. Everyone was literally eating off my flesh before I was even dead. I wasn’t just knocked to my knees, but was flattened prostrate before the Universe.

I had lost everything, yet it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Though it sounds like a hollow platitude, it is true – sometimes you have to lose everything to find yourself.

This is a book about overcoming and will prove to be your North Star in helping you find your way! We have all walked our own paths of pain. We have all been to hell and back or maybe this is where you are now. Suffice it to say, no one has the greater pain. Pain is Pain. Hell is Hell.

The encouraging word is, no matter who you are, where you’ve been or what you’ve done there is healing, there is overcoming, there is finding your way after losing yourself! You will make it to the other side!
